Meeting for Worship: Every Sunday at 11:00am (Zoom link available on request)

If you’re seeking spiritual companionship or maybe just curious, Sunderland Quakers meet for quiet reflection, seeking wisdom out of stillness.
We meet from 11:00 am every Sunday
Please see the attached document Here that shows how to enter the building
Our meetings together are simple - we join with others and settle into silence. Sometimes someone may feel inspired to speak briefly. We find this way of worship draws us together and may bring us closer to a power beyond ourselves. After the silence we chat and share our experiences. Everyone and all ages are welcome in our meeting though children must have adult supervision if attending.

We Will Have A New Meeting Place Soon

Since December 2025, we have been working to restore a building in the Sunniside Area of Sunderland.
Formerly known as "The Old Tyre Shop" but renamed "Friends Meeting Place," we are delighted to announce that the work is progressing well and that we hope to be in the building sometime in September 2026.
The building will have mixed use and we will work to enable it to become a positive part of the Sunniside and Sunderland community.
We will be providing spaces for a number of community organisations as well as general space hire for other activities.
This project has been funded by a grant from Historic England as well as by direct funding from Northumbria Quakers. We have the funds to get the building up and running but further funding is required to complete all the work and fit out the rooms.
If you feel able to contribute to this work, no matter the amount please contact us for ways to do this.
